"Made in Ballarat" just for the cold weather.

opening speeches at Made in Balllarat exhibition

Cold weather in Ballarat but that did not deter the crowd at the “Made in Ballarat” exhibition opening at Backspace Gallery. A wonderful group exhibition of artists from the South Street Art Studio run by Linda Franklin. And joined by Odette Hearn and Martin Hale, all three different works of Art depicting the scene in Ballarat and its rich gold mining history. Odette’s work of goldfish drawings symbolised the Chinese Miners influence in Ballarat, and Martin’s paintings of typical gold leads maps under the Southern Sky, while Linda’s paintings on timber of the life revolving around Lake Wendouree.

Interesting and rich cultural exhibition, worth a look or a purchase of very reasonable artworks.

  1. Hi Dawn, That’s a lovely write up of the Made In Ballarat opening at Backspace. I also like your photograph. Because we were rushing about so much the three of us don’t have any/many photographs of the event. Would you mind if I copied your photo to use on my web page for the exhibition? Thank you for attending the opening. Best wishes – Martin
