2nd family, 5 portraits

I was asked to draw the Partners children as well, was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t think I could when I saw the photographs. But they’re happy with results,

Older sister who was sitting on a motorbike at night, I was lucky to see her well enough when I cropped to her face for a better view
This was a blurred and awkward pose, he was waving but I thought to leave his hand out, now I wish I’d put it in,
I didn’t think this was a suitable pose at all, but it turned out ok

Youngest.

I drew them on Monday, when it was too cold to be in my shed come studio. Was a marathon attempt,

Womans fictitional portrait

I wanted to draw a pretty woman today. I’ve come to the conclusion that they are pretty boring to draw, and hard too because there’s not much to latch onto in the way of shadows wrinkles or muscle differences. Anyway I like what I came to draw in the end and I’ve tried its luck by putting it up for sale, perhaps someone will like her.

Sunday arvo charcoal drawing

I have been charcoal drawing Sunday Afternoons for a while now. Its great to keep my drawing up and to be able to spend time with my family rather than painting in the studio, and to keep my mind off world affairs. I think we’re in serious trouble. But that is another story. Here’s the charcoal drawing .

Iso Activities

Finished an oil painting today, the view from my front yard.

Oil painting on canvas 100 x 33 cm

And a friends baby picture. Thought he looked very cute.

All my time in Isolation is spent productively. But I am wondering where its all leading too.

Decision Time

I need to decide on my subject matter, I’m thinking of drawing girly girls portraiture. They would be larger than life, can’t decide what size though. Anyway having drawn this today wondering how popular they could be. Would anyone be interested? That’s my dilemma.

Drawing today

Had a rest from everything  today but felt like drawing a portrait late afternoon and found this young man online.  I decided that it was unusual enough  to try my simple theory. I am teaching portraiture for beginners to intermediate,   so making sure its simplicity will work , I’m  happy to see that it does.

Today’s drawing

My theory most probably is similar to other’s, there are various ways, but I think mine is simple to follow for a beginner.

A few lines as pointers to begin measuring and guide.

See you with more art next time .

A Brand New Beginning

Well here we are again, writing a blog on another brand new website. I am dedicating this Gallery mainly to my Spiritual arts, so that my Facebook page of the name, Spiritual Arts and Humanities has a website for visitors to click on.

My last exhibition when Covid 19 struck was called Faith in the Highest and I hadn’t realized before then how much my work revolved around my faith now. I love the Lord because he first loved me and I am so thankful to Him for restoring my life after the Hell I went through in my early years. We believe that He is returning sooner than People think and could be in the next year or two or three. In any event we hope it wont be too long as we are pretty sure where the world is heading.

But brighter things are needed at this time and art is a sure way to go. I have put a number of Paintings in the Gallery and I have started teaching portraits via video, just beginner to intermediate and I will share a drawing that I did last Sunday, and a painting I did today that match a few others. I have plans to make them patriotic with the Australian Flag. I do hope you can enjoy these two, and the Gallery.

A pose I was able to use from Pinterest, thinking of painting the Australian Flag in the background.
Sunday’s sketch of man I found on Pinterest, for want of someone to draw. not for sale.
